Shayla Cox’s Guerilla Fashion Show, Ceramic Jewelry + Spring’s Hottest Trends!

Talk about impact!

Could you imagine minding your own business around town then witnessing these girls stampeding towards you? With the sidewalk as their runway, these ladies did their thing rockin’ spring’s hottest trends (nudes, pastels, flowy skirts and 40s inspired menswear), providing the perfect back drop to feature Shayla Cox’s ceramic jewelry. I’m lovin the simplistic approach to her jewelry line, basic lines and shapes but each piece delivers its impact by size, texture and color. I also appreciate that they layer so well together.  Much props to stylist Pamela Shepard for putting these looks together. Frresshhhh!!!!

…and it looks like they got the June Ambrose stamp of approval! She is so faaaab btw!

NYFW Fall 2011: Dannijo

The sister duo Danielle and Jodie Snyder of Dannijo jewelry kicked off NY Fashion Week with their first presentation for their Fall 2011 collection the other day.  I had to start the post with my favorite piece from their collection above.  The combination of red and yellow crystals and the massive pendant layered with chains underneath is beautiful.  During an interview with Ny.Racked.com Dannijo said their collection was inspired by the “pastoral frontier of the wild, wild west and we juxtaposed that with the shamelessly opulent era of the roaring 20’s.”  I think they combined their concept with the set and the jewelry line well.  All the models were adorned with huge statment necklaces, layered with rings, and glamorous vintage clothing.

Dannijo is also collaborating with Vena Cava for their Fall 2011 show. I will be posting the coverage from the event after the show.

Below are the ladies Danielle and Jodie!

“…And now I want to stay at your side tonight, I want to watch you as the sun lights up your eyes, I want to know when you wake first thing you see is me, You’re all the things I prayed that I’d meet…”

So I’m the slowest person on the planet and just discovered the effects feature on Photo Booth! LOL!

I had fun =)

I love these little chandelier earrings! They go so well with everything. Got them from Apna Bazaar, an amazing Indian boutique in Falls Church that sells all kinds of Indian jewelry and clothes. I featured them in a post a while ago here.

The necklace is from a tribal jewelry store that used to be at Tyson’s Corner Mall. My sister and I used to drool all over ourselves whenever we would stop by, and then one day we went to visit and they were gone! It’s a piano store now. Such a disappointment =(

The vintage men’s watch was copped at an Estate Sale; and the charm bracelet was a gift =) ❤

Hope everyone had a good Monday!

Song of the day

on repeat….
