Three Women for Vogue Italia February 2010; Photgraphed by Steven Meisel

Three supermodels Jamie Bochert, Daphne Guinness, and Agyness Deyn,  got together for the Three Women Vogue Italia’s February 2010 cover wearing an explosion of the most preeminent  fashion and jewelry designers.  After a little translating, lol, I was able to list the specific designers used to style most of the photos.

Earrings and finger stalls by Erickson Beamon and veil head piece by Yestadt Millinery

Gucci dress with metal horsebit harness with crystal detail and a Delfina Delettrez hand bracelet

Lanvin asymmetrical pants suit; metal belt by Maison Martin Margiela; handcuffs by Alexander McQueen

Wearing haute couture designer Hussein Chalayan; feather necklace by Bess; bracelet and ring by Pamela Love;

Break The Spell Editorial in I-D Magazine, Winter 2009

I-D Magazine did an editorial spread called,  Break The Spell, for Winter 2009.  This particular photo stood out to me because of the spike and chain embellishments in the corset made by The Blondes.  The dress is Alexander McQueen.

Lady GaGa’s Diamond Crown and Ensemble Look

2

Lady Gaga sure is not one to shy away from making a fashion statement. She pushes the envelope in her attention grabbing outfits with each music video and high profile appearance, often leaving the public in a state of awe and confusion. Her latest video, Bad Romance,  is full of futuristic statement pieces from Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2010’s show (which was absolutely AMAZING), but I couldnt keep my eyes off of her Diamond Crown and Ensemble. After doing some research I found out that the look was  created by Franc Fernandez. Here is an excerpt from  GagaDaily.com about the idea behind the look:

“It was a personal request by Nicola Formichetti, Lady Gaga’s stylist, to construct a sort of “diamond princess” piece that she would be wearing in the portion of the Bad Romance video where the men are “bidding” on her. The crown along with the rest of the ensemble are made of individual pieces of jewelry wired together. The crown was finished the day before and the bust/top portion was literally constructed and molded on Lady Gaga, herself, on the day of the shoot. Lady Gaga has an amazing team around her so it was great to be a part of that experience“.

Trend Alert: Knuck if You Buck!

knuckleringsdo-the-right-thing-movie

Don’t call them a comeback, they’ve been here for years! Knuckle rings made their first appearance during the 80s fashion era, hybernated for a bit, and have come back with a vengance! The knuckle rings of today have a little bit more flair to them; and designers have used their creative juices to conjur up some pretty unique looking peices. This style can range from the very elegant/classy to “In you face” edginess.  Basically there are two versions of this style, the ring that goes across the knuckles (usually a multi-finger) or one that goes across one knuckle vertically.

Check out some of our favorites:
